Our Vision
Sharing the peace and good news of Jesus with his world.
St.
Matthew's mission
Jesus Christ gave all his
followers 5 tasks. The great commandment contains Two
and the great commission contains the other three. All
are contained in the Bible in the Gospel of Matthew.
The great
commandment Matthew 22:37-39
"And he said to him, "You shall love the Lord Your God
with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all
your mind. This is the great and foremost commandment.
The second is like it, You shall Love your neighbor as
yourself."
The great commission Matthew 28:18-20
"And Jesus came and said to them, All authority in heaven
and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and
make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the
name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching
them to observe all that I commanded to you: and lo, I am
with you always, even to the end of the age."
To Summarize:
Our five purposes as a congregation are to:
-
Love God
-
Love our Neighbor
-
Make disciples
-
Baptize believers
-
Teach them all that he has commanded
Remember: You
Matter to God!
